Online fix

Sources checked Lobby rules are from the developer FAQ (30 Apr 2026) and the V1.0.11 / V1.0.30 notes. The later steps are the usual Steam-lobby checks, plus a player report that Cloudflare WARP blocked joins.

Quick answer

This page is not a download. Do not install a third-party “online fix,” cracked exe, or keygen. They are how a lobby gets worse.

The game is Steam friends only, up to six people. There is no matchmaking. The developer says to turn VPNs off and to let the best connection host.

Quit the game on every PC, restart Steam, let the update finish, then have the host make a new lobby and send a new invite.

V1.0.11 set new lobbies to Friends Only by default. If strangers still walk in, set Lobby Mode to Invite Only and re-host.

If a clean vanilla lobby still fails, email support@tenstack.se with the Player log, not a screenshot of an IP address.

What the developers already said

Checked against V1.0.11 Friends Only as the default is the 10 May 2026 patch. VPN guidance is the pinned FAQ.

The pinned FAQ, from the studio, is short:

A June 2026 player thread matches the VPN line in practice: joins started working when Cloudflare WARP was turned off. That is one report, not a study. It is still the first network thing to try.

The short path

Join failures, in the order that wastes the least time
Step
Everyone does this
You can stop if
Step 1
Everyone does this Fully exit the game. Do not leave it sitting on the menu.
You can stop if You were already fully quit and the problem is new.
Step 2
Everyone does this Quit Steam as well, reopen it, and wait until the download queue is idle.
You can stop if Both clients show the same recent update and the game launches.
Step 3
Everyone does this Compare versions out loud. A leftover build looks like a broken invite.
You can stop if The host and the guest name the same build.
Step 4
Everyone does this Host creates one new lobby. Sends one new Steam invite. Old chat invites get ignored.
You can stop if The guest loads into the neighborhood and stays there.
Step 5
Everyone does this Both accounts are Steam friends, both appear online, both launched the game from Steam. Overlay is allowed for this title.
You can stop if The invite is clickable and lands in this lobby, not an older one.
Step 6
Everyone does this Turn VPNs, WARP, and proxy clients off for the test. Allow Steam and the game through the firewall. Do not disable the firewall forever.
You can stop if A clean network path joins.
Step 7
Everyone does this If you use mods, move them out and verify the game files. Test two players, vanilla.
You can stop if Vanilla works. Then the mod list is the suspect, and both sides need the same versions.
Step 8
Everyone does this Still failing: grab the log and write to support, with the build, who hosted, and the exact moment it died.
You can stop if You have a reply, or a known issue on the Steam discussions.

V1.0.30 also mentions network-code improvements. If one person never installed that update, you are debugging a version mismatch and calling it lag.

Where the log actually is

The FAQ says: Windows key + R, type appdata, then go to LocalLow\TENSTACK\Gamble With Your Friends and send the file named Player. That shortcut opens the Roaming folder. LocalLow is its sibling. The reliable path is:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\TENSTACK\Gamble With Your Friends

The log is the latest session. Grab it right after the failure. Send it to support@tenstack.se. Do not post account tokens or a private IP in a public thread.

There is also Pause Menu, Report A Bug, inside the game.

Symptoms, mapped

What the failure usually means
What you see
Likely cause
Next check
What you see Invite does nothing
Likely cause Old notification, overlay disabled, or Steam thinks you are offline.
Next check New lobby, new invite, overlay on, both friends.
What you see Guest loads, then drops to the menu
Likely cause VPN, or a version/mod mismatch. A 2026 thread matched this with WARP left on.
Next check VPN off, both clients updated, vanilla retest.
What you see Version mismatch
Likely cause One PC did not finish the Steam update, or a mod replaced files.
Next check Idle download queue, then verify files.
What you see Strangers join
Likely cause Lobby Mode is looser than you think, or you did not re-host.
Next check Invite Only on every account in the session, then a new lobby. Streamers: the FAQ suggests a profile name you do not show on stream.
What you see Fine in the neighborhood, broken after a day change
Likely cause State desync. The 1.0.30 notes mention network fixes, which does not make mixed versions safe.
Next check Vanilla lobby. If vanilla is clean, add mods back one at a time.
What you see Cannot find a public server
Likely cause There isn’t one.
Next check Friends only. Discord if you need a crew.

What this page will not do

It will not link mod loaders, achievement unlockers, or “fix” archives. If the official path fails, the next step is the studio, with a log. Platforms that are not Windows are a different question, answered on the platforms page without the poker-app detour other sites took.
